Hygiene at the Practice

When you next visit you will experience a number of changes to the way we operate. Whilst we have always had incredibly high standards of hygiene which are regularly monitored and independently regulated, we have added new measures for your protection and peace of mind. These new operating procedures and protocols will ensure the safety of patients and staff members in the practice.

To reassure patients there is currently no evidence to suggest that there is a risk of contracting COVID-19 from dental procedures for staff or patients. However, these enhanced procedures will be present for as long as the virus is in the community to give us all peace of mind and additional protection.

New hygiene measures

These changes will include:

• New patient portal to allow pre-screening before you attend your appointment
• Patients to wait in the car park to be called in for appointments
• Patients to attend alone unless requiring assistance
• Temperature checks on arrival before entering the premises
• Patients to carry out hand hygiene and wear a mask (supplied) when on site
• Regular staff screening and temperature checks
• Reduced number of staff and patients on the premises at any one time
• Social distancing measures in place
• New wipe down furniture and reception screens
• Enhanced PPE for aerosol generating procedures
• Installation of DentAir, air purifiers, which purify the air in the consulting rooms every four minutes, ensuring a constant flow of clean air.

Virtual consultations

We continue to offer virtual patients to those patients who would rather not attend the practice. We have invested in the online portal SmileMate (www.smilemate.com), where you are able to upload photos, and this would usually be followed up with a video consultation.

This is also a great way to submit images if you are considering cosmetic dentistry, allowing us to review your images and advise without you having to visit the practice.
